What to Expect from Your Bike Fit

1. Initial Discussion
Discussion around your goals, experience and needs from a bike fit. We will chat through your relevant injury history and any factors which may influence how we fit you to the bike. This will begin our off the bike assessment and guide us on the bike.

2. Physiotherapy Assessment
A cycling specific physiotherapy assessment analysing mobility, strength, asymmetries, and movement control that directly influence power and comfort. Through this part of the off the bike assessment we will identify anything that will alter decisions regarding fit.

3. Assessment of Current Bike Set-Up
Precise review of your current bike measurements, contact points, and component selection. This will give a baseline set up to identify scope for change and which we can refer back to in order to analyse the changes made.

4. Assessment of Current Riding Position
Dynamic on-bike analysis of joint angles, symmetry, stability, and pedalling mechanics under load. Using GaitOn motion capture analysis, we will spot any issues with your fit and refer back to the off the bike assessment to explain anything contributing to your current level of discomfort if any or methods to improve efficiency.

5. Adjustment to Riding Position
Targeted adjustments to saddle position, cleat alignment, reach, and drop to optimise power output, control, and aerodynamics. Adjustable stems, handlebars, and cleats are used where required to refine position without sacrificing sustainability. These will be adjustments made in response to issues detected on initial assessment.

6. Reassessment and Re-Adjustment
Each positional change is immediately reassessed to evaluate its effect on joint angles, movement efficiency, and stability. Each position change will be recorded and can be referred back to later in the fit. Fine adjustments are made to balance optimal power output and aerodynamics with comfort and fatigue resistance.

7. Repeat as Necessary
The process is repeated until the most efficient and repeatable position is achieved within your physical and equipment limits. We will test and re-test as many times as necessary to monitor each change made, so we can backtrack if needed to find optimal set up.

8. Fit New Components
Any new components needed will be fit there and then to ensure that you leave the fit with a bike ready to take on the open road. No lengthy report you need to take to a shop to get them to match an unrealistic fit that won't even work on your bike! This is within reason, integrated setups may need workshop fitting due to time/parts requirement.

9. Analysis and Fit Report
A detailed before and after fit report is provided and emailed after the session, including joint angles, step by step changes made, and rationale for each step. This allows you to track changes, replicate your position, and make informed future adjustments.
